He is big, he is bold, he
is elegant, he is fresh and he sparkles… Enough to capture your
attention ?
Not bad for a
start !
Unfortunately
it is not the man of your dreams, nor 007, but perhaps better than that…
Introducing your new
companion for the summer: Ice Tropez!
The
Christmas season is inevitably the guarantee for lots, loads, and tons of
chocolate. And what if for a change, quantity gave up its seat to the best
quality there is of all?
Fancy a hot chocolate now that winter is around the corner
and it’s that time of year again to sip on something warm? La Cuillere Suisse is the next best thing in hot chocolate!
Yes, you went all the way to Berlin just to “hang out” with the guy you’re ONLY friends with… and then there was the time you just had to go to Cannes on the off-chance that Sarah Jessica Parker might want to go for a cocktail… but ever found yourself hopping on a train to go out of your way to have the best hot chocolate in the galaxy? You say crazy?! We say its worth the detour!
Cay and Anne Nielsen have created a whirl of spices, chocolate, mismatched furniture, couches, rich deep colours and mixed it up with a lot of soul to bring us Balzac!
Balzac has been around for 7 years now, and Cay, a sociologist, is over-the-moon about his café/restaurant/social experiment. The energy and warm happy vibes are almost tangible! Everything is for sale: paintings, lights, and sculptures found on the family’s worldly travels…even the tables, although that’s only happened once or twice…
There are an astounding 18 hot chocolates on the menu. How about La Velouté de Balzac, with its hints of ginger and pepper. Or the heavenly Brut del Peru Organic 80%? Its near-impossible to have only one favourite here!
Reserve for their gorgeous Sunday brunch experience (le grand dejeuner!). Or, even better, their magical monthly theme-dinners on a Saturday night. But whatever your fancy is at Balzac’s, you can’t leave without sampling at least one hot chocolate. That would be foolish… more so than that trip to Berlin.. ;)
